Preparing Your Home for HVAC Installation Day

The Week Before

Prepare the Space

  • Clear 5-foot area around indoor unit
  • Clear path from door to equipment
  • Remove items from nearby shelves (vibration during install)
  • Clear outdoor unit location

Logistics

  • Confirm appointment time and date
  • Arrange for pets to be secured
  • Plan for noise during work
  • Note that power will be off periodically

Installation Day

Morning Prep

  • Have coffee ready (technicians appreciate it!)
  • Secure pets in separate room
  • Clear parking for work truck
  • Unlock gates to backyard

During Installation

  • Technicians will cover floors and wear shoe covers
  • Expect noise and some disruption
  • Stay available for questions
  • Plan activities away from work area

What Takes Time

  • Removing old equipment
  • Running new refrigerant lines (if needed)
  • Electrical connections
  • Testing and calibration

What to Expect

Duration

  • AC replacement: 4-8 hours
  • Full system replacement: 8-12 hours
  • New ductwork: Adds 1-2 days

Mess

  • Some dust is unavoidable
  • We cover and protect surfaces
  • We clean up when done
  • Minor touch-up painting might be needed

After Installation

Walkthrough
